Rhodes: the island of the Knights
Rhodes is an island of Greece located in the southeastern Aegean. It is the "gem" of the
Dodecanese, which is why it is also the capital.
What to visit in Rhodes?
The only thing that we can advise you about this island is that you need at least 7-10 days to
say that you have seen the island! Rhodes has everyday things to show you and choose
according to your preferences. Let's start:
1) Old Town: Of course you should visit the old town. The old town is in the center of Rhodes
and has been declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage City. It is impressive the feeling that
you will feel the time back and you will be transported to the Middle Ages . Walking through
the old town you will see various shops for food, entertainment even to buy your various
souvenirs. You get from paved alleys until you reach the palace of Grand Master where you
can visit inside.
2) Kallithea Sources: 9 km from Rhodes Town you will meet the famous Sources of Kallithea.
It is a monument of particular beauty and architecture. The Sources of Kallithea have been
known since ancient times for the beneficial properties of the water sparkling and continues
to spill out of the rocks so far. Also do not forget that this place became famous, since there
was the film in which Alice Vougiouklaki was starring, << The Doom >>.
3) Lindos: Lindos is also part of the island's UNESCO-protected island. Lindos stands out in
beauty. Its Acropolis, the blue waters will make you enjoy your walk anytime and the only
sure thing you will not want to leave!
4) Beaches of Rhodes: As far as the beaches are concerned, you have many choices. If you
do not meet the combination of blue-green waters and green vegetation, the beaches of
Rhodes combine the wildlife that combines the scenery with crystal clear waters. Significant
beaches to visit Tsampikas beach, Afandou beach, Anthony Quinn beach named after the
famous actor, the beach of Faliraki and the beach of Lindos are beaches that you should
definitely visit.
5) Butterflies: The butterflies of Rhodes are a unique natural landscape and one of Europe's
richest habitats. There is the summer shelter of the << butterfly of the Quadrant >> as it is
officially called. You can see thousands of colorful butterflies flying and to make the
landscape magical. The butterflies will explore them through various paths, lawns and
wooden bridges that combined with the green nature make the landscape magical. You can
combine your visit there with a pleasure party picnic!
6) Seven springs: The seven springs are one of the most important places to visit, especially a
naturalist going to Rhodes. As with the butterflies, there is vegetation everywhere in the
place. Extreme plantains through which running waters offer moments of relaxation to the
visitor.An important tip of the area is to do not miss to visit the homonym lake of the area,
crossing the small narrow tunnel that starts from the ravine and will lead you to your
destination.
7) Faliraki: The area is particularly well known to foreign tourists. Apart from its excellent
beach, Faliraki has been known for its frantic entertainment until early morning. There you
will find karaoke, British and Irish pubs and disco. You will also find some quiet bars, but as
you will see, the area is filled with young people dancing and drinking everywhere, so
beware!

Tips: Do not forget before leaving the island to buy the famous umbrellas of Rhodes. The
island, especially in the past, had many umbrellas which made special and very durable
